Landscape Integrating into Rural Scenery

We designed landscape around the new arena at Kumamoto Health Science University as well as landscape along the main street connecting the campus and the nearby station. The arena located adjacent to the station and the railroad tracks is expected to serve as the landmark symbol of the university. Our idea is to highlight the presence of the arena by making a simple and low landscape emphasizing horizontality and create a new scenery by integrating the landscape into rural surroundings.

田園風景と連続するランドスケープ


熊本保健科学大学における新しいアリーナの周辺と、駅とキャンパスを結ぶメインストリートのランドスケープである。アリーナは駅や鉄道に隣接していることから、アリーナは大学の顔としてシンボリックな存在となることが求められた。ランドスケープは立ち上りの少ない水平方向を意識したシンプルな計画とすることでアリーナの存在を際立たせると共に、周辺の田園と連続し新たな風景を形成している。
